TAPS climbs to High Camp

Friends, family & loved ones,

TAPS reporting in from our high camp at 15,700 feet. We are all doing great and are packing for our summit push as we speak. We made it up here in very good time– the team is strong and our “slow and steady” philosophy, combined with lots of pressure breathing, seems to be working very well for everyone. The weather is clear and relatively warm but quite windy at the moment. We hope that the clear weather holds for our summit push tonight and that the wind abates– we’ll see what we get. We plan to wake up at 11 pm, have a quick breakfast and leave camp at midnight, hoping to top out just after sunrise. Wish us luck!

Carole & Vern

All my best,
Vern Tejas
