TAPS Machu Picchu Trek

Hola friends, family and loved ones,

The team woke up early to see the sights of Cusco and the surrounding area. Cusco, known as the “Navel of the Universe” by the Inca, is home to some fascinating pre-Columbian ruins. Today we visited three of the major sights and also had some time to watch a really interesting demonstration by some master weavers, who use local plants and insects as the source of their fabric dyes.

And, of course, some shopping and visiting with more furry friends.

We were all left blown away by the architectural and engineering feats of the Incas and are eager to continue to learn more about them as we trek the Inca Trail. At the end of another jam packed day, everyone  is feeling good and acclimatizing well.
