2018 Carstensz Team Arrives In Timika

Hello folks –

The Alpine Ascents International 2018 Carstensz Pyramid expedition took a late night flight out of Denpasar, Bali last night and arrived in Timika, Western Papua today.

We checked into our hotel (which by the way is an upgrade over the one we used the past two years – improvement is always nice to be a part of) and spent the rest of the day on a skills review and also resting.

The evening brought a celebration of my 46th birthday – aww, thanks!

Allen Wilson’s birthday is in three days – we’re hoping to celebrate it either on the summit of Carstensz Pyramid or (possible) back in Bali with the summit in the bag.

OK – gotta get up at 05.15 to see if the helicopter can fly tomorrow.
