Team “Hypoxic Hill Hoppers” Moves to Condoriri

The June 7th team has chosen the name of Team Hypoxic Hill Hoppers. Today we spent part of the day in the tiny village of Tuni at the home of Andres and Remedios. We shared a special meal typical of the Bolivian altiplano of lamb, sweet potato, oka (a sweet local potato), and plantains roasted in an earth oven heated with hot stones. We also practiced making yarn from alpaca wool and weaving using ancient traditional methods. In the afternoon we hiked to the Condoriri Base Camp at 15,400 ft.
Buenas noches,
Rachel
