On the trail early today as we climbed 3,000 feet to the trading center of the whole area, Namche Bazaar. It was a day of crossing bridges over the Dudh Kosi river, and a day for admiring more carved Mani stones. They seem to be everywhere!
Our afternoon challenge was a big hill just below Namche. Access is limited to the two suspension bridges just over our heads (third photo below). The highest bridge was our choice but sometimes there are “mule jams” that slow us down. It was worth the wait as we tested wonderfully when we arrived at our favorite Panarama Lodge. We feel like we are at home here. The team is doing rather well yet we will take an acclimatization day here tomorrow just to give our bodies time to adjust to the thin air!
All our best, Team Khumbu
