Hi Folks,
Greetings from Gorak Shep at just over 17,000 feet. Our walk today took us about 5 hours from Lobuche — pretty good time! Because of the snow storm last week, it felt like we were walking through a winter wonderland, with clear blue skies and everything blanketed in brilliant white. It’s pretty rare to see so much snow here and just so beautiful. The trail conditions were a bit trickier because of the snow but the team met the challenge and did a great job.
The only item of note was Jeff’s close encounter with a yak — he escaped unscathed. Everyone is tired from the hike today but other than a couple of head colds, people are doing well. We’re excited to trek to Base Camp tomorrow!
Talk to you tomorrow,
Carole Tejas
