Trekking Team now in Pheriche

Hello Everyone!

There have been a bit of connectivity issues here to post a cybercast but we are back online now and just got into Pheriche (at around 14,000ft). Everyone is doing great! We’ve had some minor struggles with the altitude, adjusting to the food, and a few “bugs” going around, but nothing out of the ordinary and we are all safe and having fun!

Yesterday we hiked from Khumjung to Deboche, passing through the beautiful village of Tengboche. Tengboche sits atop a hill with great views toward some of the world’s tallest peaks. It happened to be cloudy when we arrived but we had some great views today in the morning from our dining room in Deboche.

From Deboche we hiked to Pheriche today. The landscape is starting to change. The mountains are looking bigger as we are getting closer and the vegetation is getting smaller as we are walking near and on old moraines from glaciers. We’ll spend two nights here to let our bodies continue to acclimatize to the thinner air. Thanks for following along! We are doing well and are excited to be getting close to Base Camp.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Ben
