Aconcagua – Up the Hill Gang Carries to Camp I
Howdy folks!
Danny and Rodrigo here checking in again for the Up the Hill Gang here on Aconcagua. Today we had a very successful carry to Camp I (aka Camp Canada). This serves two purposes for our team:
1) it serves as another acclimatization hike to higher altitude
2) we were able to get a sizable amount of our group and personal gear up to camp ahead of our move up there
We left around 8am and got to camp I around 11:30. We then relaxed up there for about an hour and got back to basecamp around 2pm. En route to basecamp we saw a condor soaring high in the air near the buttresses of Aconcagua. After that, we essentially had a half of a rest day that will be followed by another full rest day tomorrow at basecamp. We just finished a delicious lasagna dinner and everyone is looking forward to sleeping in and relaxing tomorrow. Check back tomorrow for more! Bye for now! Happy Birthday Chuck!
