Team 2 divides into two parts: one group headed to Low Camp as the other group waits to fly out of Union Glacier to Base Camp

Hello, this is Garrett Madison calling in for the Alpine Ascents second Mount Vinson expedition. Today’s January 12th and today we split our expedition into two parts.

One part has climbers: Raha, Roberto, Joe, Rosier, Craig, and Tom with Guides Garrett Madison and Sam Hennesy.

The other group of climbers is: Tim, Kionte, Ken, and John with Guide Matt Hegeman.

And Tim and company are still in Union Glacier, but hoping to fly tomorrow to meet Matt at Vinson Base Camp. The rest of us are up here at Low Camp. We had a great climb from Base Camp up to Low Camp. Had a nice dinner, and currently we’re all tucking into our tents to get a good night’s rest.

Sounds like we might have a little bit of wind and some snow the next few days, but that’s alright because we got a great camp set up and we’re looking forward to a rest day tomorrow. Everyone’s doing well, and we’ll check in soon.
