Jumbo friends family and loved ones,
As we prepared for the day hard on the trail our full crew sang Swahili songs to us and got us in the mood for climbing. When we got to Lava Tower at over 15,000 feet we had to take an obligatory photograph at the sign post.
We looking rather spry for the altitude.
Then we dropped a couple thousand feet down through a forest of Giant Senecio plants. Which look like something drawn by Dr. Suess.
The dead leaves stay on for years insulating the plant from the intense cold.
Just on the other side of the forest lay our home for the night, Barranco Camp.
Tea time, dinner time and then bedtime!
This is so much fun! Everyone is looking forward to climbing Barranco wall tomorrow conveniently located just behind our camp.
